The Fruit Company
The Fruit Company, located in Hood River Oregon, has been using
Biodiesel since April 2005. We offer orchard tours mid-April through
mid-October. In the past, we have fueled our tractor pulled tram with
diesel. This is the first year we have used Biodiesel. The mixture we
use is 99% Biodiesel and 1% petroleum diesel. We started using it to
eliminate diesel fumes from our tours and to better accommodate our
tour groups. Each passenger that rides The Fruit Company Express
becomes aware of the fact that we are using this fuel. It is included
in our tour script. We find that some passengers are already aware of
Biodiesel and exceedingly happy about the fact they are getting an up
close and personal look at how Biodiesel actually is used and that it
is being used. We have had on occasion the whole tour train bolster out
in clapping. It is amazing to me how well the tractor runs, just the
same as last year when we were using diesel.we have noticed no drop in
performance. There are some who ride the tram who have never heard of
this product and they are quite interested in learning more. We get
many questions. We also have handouts on Biodiesel which include more
information. We are very proud to announce that we are using Biodiesel.
It is also a fun way to start the tour. We let them know, that if they
start getting hungry for French fries during the tour, not to worry
because it is just the tractor! Thank you for creating such a wonderful
product, that is not only better for the environment but also very user
friendly and supportive of US Agricultural Goods. We have had nothing
but good experiences from your product and look forward to using
Biodiesel for many more years.
