1. Can my gas vehicle fuel at SeQuential? Do I need a conversion?

Every vehicle can use fuel from the SeQuential station. Gas cars do not need a conversion. The SeQuential fuel is cleaner burning than conventional gasoline.

Every gas vehicle can use a blend of Bioethanol and gasoline. The two fuels can be blended together in any ratio. Common blends are:

• E10 Gasoline (10% Bioethanol) for all gasoline vehicles
• E85 Bioethanol (85% Bioethanol) for FlexFuel vehicles

2. Can I switch back and forth from SeQuential to fuel from other stations? Does my tank have to be empty before switching over?

You can switch back and forth between SeQuential and other stations. SeQuential’s cleaner burning biofuel blends will mix with any gas in your fuel tank – it does not have to be all the way empty when you fill up.

3. What are the benefits of using SeQuential’s Bioethanol?

Lower emissions. - the average car emits 12,100 pounds per year of carbon dioxide. (CO2 is a greenhouse gas).

By switching to SeQuential’s cleaner burning, biofuel blended fuels:

• Gas cars using E10 Gasoline reduce CO2 emissions by up to 7%
• Flex Fuel vehicles using E85 Bioethanol reduce CO2 emissions by up to 59%

• All Biofuel is cleaner burning and produces “contemporary carbon” that is recycled year-to-year. Plants grow, pulling carbon from the atmosphere; they are turned into Biofuel and burned, releasing carbon that is then absorbed during the next growing cycle. Petroleum fuels release carbon into the atmosphere that was previously stored underground; fossil fuels cannot recycle their carbon.

Cleaner.  Bioethanol has a higher octane  and cleans out fuel systems (E10 Gasoline has an octane rating of 89; E85 Bioethanol has an octane rating of 115).

Local.  SeQuential is committed sourcing local fuel whenever possible, with a strong preference for recycled or sustainably harvested materials.

• Local and domestic production of fuel increases energy security and helps the domestic economy, keeping dollars at home and creating jobs.

4. Gas vehicles: understanding fuel blend options

Every gas vehicle can use a Bioethanol blend. All cars can use E10 Gasoline. Flex Fuel Vehicles can use E85 Bioethanol and can be identified by looking at their gas tank door. Using Bioethanol decreases emissions, lessening global warming. It also increases octane and cleans out sediment from the fuel system.

E10 Gasoline is the best fuel blend for most cars. SeQuential’s E10 is a plus-grade gasoline that delivers better performance and decreases carbon dioxide emissions by about 7%. For the average driver that is a decrease of about 1,000 pounds of CO2 per year!

E85 Bioethanol is a great way for Flexible Fuel Vehicle owners to decrease greenhouse gas emissions and support energy security. Using E85 Bioethanol will decrease carbon dioxide emissions by about 59%.  E85 Bioethanol contains less energy by volume and will decrease your mileage by about a third; this is offset by a lower price per gallon. For the average driver that is a decrease of about 6,700 pounds of CO2 per year, even taking into consideration the mileage loss! By using 85% renewable fuel, the average driver decreases their petroleum usage by about 432 gallons per year.

5. What is SeQuential’s Bioethanol made from? Where is it made?

SeQuential is committed to using local and sustainably grown fuel products whenever possible. At this time, our Bioethanol supply is sourced from Pacific Ethanol, located in Boardman, OR. Pacific uses corn as their primary feedstock, however, the production is less energy intensive than standard Midwestern ethanol because they do not dry out their distillers wet grains, a highly nutritious animal feed byproduct. In most Bioethanol facilities, distillers wet grains are dried (at very high energy cost) to preserve them for shipping; Pacific Ethanol supplies local farms with the fresh, wet grains. Pacific Ethanol recently received a federal grant to build a cellulosic Bioethanol facility.

6. Does using SeQuential’s fuel void my warranty? Does the use of bioethanol void my warranty?

No – auto manufacturers do not extend their warranties to the fuel. Since most auto manufacturers and mechanics are not familiar with biofuels, they will often incorrectly blame mechanical problems on biofuel. Theoretically, if you bought a tank of ‘bad fuel’, the fuel provider would be the one to cover your repair costs, and your auto manufacturer would not void your warranty. To do this, it must be proven that the fuel does not meet quality specifications.
