Blend Below 40 Degrees Fahrenheit

Cold Weather Use

As the cold weather settles in and the low temperature of the day drops below 45˚F, SeQuential recommends that B99 BIODIESEL users blend their BIODIESEL with diesel #2.

By the time temperatures reach 32F, you should be using 50% BIODIESEL and 50% diesel #2.
When temperatures get to 20F, you should be using 20% BIODIESEL and 80% diesel #2.

Many pumps will be switching over to B50 BLEND (50% BIODIESEL + 50% diesel #2), which will keep your vehicle running down to around 20F. For performance in colder temperatures, use a lower blend, such as B20 BLEND, which will perform down to 0F.

If your local pump is not switching over to B50 BLEND or B20 BLEND, you can still blend your fuel yourself. After your vehicle is warm, fill your tank part way with diesel #2 and then add B99 BIODIESEL, creating a custom blend in your tank. It is optimal to blend the fuel in your tank after your vehicle has had a chance to warm up.

For convenience, some of our pumps offer B50 or B20 BLEND. To view all pump locations and blends available, visit our locations page.
